7 months and 35 recipes later, WOW time flies! We started this project because we’ve always been complimented on our cooking, and in lockdown, we were looking for a creative outlet where we could share our passion. Small Kitchen Big Plates has become a project that we look forward to doing every week. We are so grateful to individuals who have been following this journey and supporting us along the way.
We have worked with some amazing brands and discovered an incredible community. Our first collaboration was with Nuts for Cheese, challenging us to push our creative minds and develop a recipe for each meal of the day (Nuts For Cheese All Day). We’re also still in disbelief that we’ve had the opportunity to create amazing cocktails with collective arts’ awesome products and are now featured on their website: Blood Orange Gin Sour & Blueberry Lavender Gin Spritz. Since the beginning, we’ve been big fans of Collective, and living a quick walk down for the TO location, we had the opportunity to shoot some photos of one of our cocktail recipes at the shop and it was a surreal experience! The amazing Toronto foodie community has been something special to discover. We started following new content creators and hope to meet some of them soon. Since it’s our first time living downtown together, exploring all the new and old restaurants, cafes, and hidden gems has become one of our fav things to do together and we can’t wait to keep discovering our city!
Working on Small Kitchen Big Plates as best friends has been a priceless opportunity. This website has become an amazing platform for us to share recipes with others and archive recipes we’ve developed over the years.
